ABOUT US

Two teachers, one program, equal partners

Star Mind Abacus was founded and is owned equally by two working teachers. Neither branch is a franchise of the other — they are two halves of the same institute.

OUR STORY

Started by teachers, still run by teachers

Star Mind Abacus began with a simple frustration: children could follow maths in a textbook but froze the moment they had to calculate in their head. Two teachers — Rupali Datta Mane in Pune and Dipali Golait in Nashik — decided to fix that together rather than separately.

They built one curriculum, one student kit and one assessment system, and agreed to own the institute in equal halves. Today both of them still teach, still run teacher training, and still sit in on level assessments at their own branch.

  • One curriculum, followed identically at both branches
  • Equal 50:50 ownership — no head office, no franchisee
  • Both founders teach and assess in person
HOW THE PARTNERSHIP WORKS

A genuine 50:50 joint venture

Equal ownership

Both founders hold an equal half of Star Mind Abacus. Decisions on fees, curriculum and new centres are taken jointly.

Shared curriculum

The same levels, the same workbooks and the same assessment papers are used in Pune and in Nashik.

Separate branches

Each founder runs her own city, so your child’s teacher is also one of the owners of the institute.

One student panel

Whichever branch you join, progress, levels and practice live in the same student panel.

ABOUT ABACUS

What is Abacus?

The abacus is one of the oldest calculating tools in the world, used for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division through simple bead movements. Once children can picture the beads in their mind, they solve long calculations without a calculator.

This practice, known as Mental Maths, works both sides of the brain — so children calculate faster, remember more, concentrate longer and grow confident with numbers.

  • Improves speed and accuracy in calculations
  • Boosts whole-brain development
  • Strengthens visualisation and memory power
  • Builds a strong foundation for higher mathematics

QUESTIONS PARENTS ASK

Frequently Asked Questions

What age should my child start?

Most children start between 5 and 8 years. We assess each child in the free demo class and place them at the right level, whatever their age.

How long is each class and how often?

One class a week of about an hour, plus short daily practice at home. Each level takes roughly three months.

Do you run online classes?

Yes. Both the Pune and Nashik branches run online batches alongside the offline ones, with the same material and the same assessments.

Which branch should I choose?

Pick the branch closest to you — Pune/PCMC or Nashik. Both follow the same curriculum and the same assessments, so your child gets the identical program either way.

What does my child receive on joining?

An abacus kit, level workbooks, a student bag and a Star Mind Abacus T-shirt, along with access to the student panel.

Is the demo class really free?

Yes. The demo class is free and there is no obligation to enrol afterwards.
